About Us

Our Philosophy

Carolina MD Acupuncture is founded on the principle that both Eastern and contemporary Western medicine have their own proper place. There are occasions when one is preferable to the other. We are a Medical  Acupuncture practice, and we respect and understand the complexity of today's patient in today's complex health care system.
We care about details. We will review your records and spend time to listen to you and to counsel you.

Our Goal

Our goal is to supplement and complement the care that you receive from your health care team.  Whether it be aches and pains or various non-pain medical conditions, call us to see how we can help. All medical issues will be discussed directly with you by the physician.

Our Physician Acupuncturist

Our acupuncturist is  certified by the American Board of Medical Acupuncture, and also certified by National Board of Physicians and Surgeons in Internal Medicine and in Nephrology.  He has been in full-time clinical practice in South Carolina since 2002. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, IL and his Nephrology fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  After completion of his basic acupuncture training, he has completed additional training in the Balance Method, in Electroacupuncture, and in  Neuroacupuncture.  He is a member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.

Our Services

We treat with various combinations of traditional acupuncture, neuroacupuncture, electroacupuncture, moxibustion, bleeding, and cupping.

Are there Risks?

All medical procedures carry some amount of risk, but acupuncture is generally very well tolerated. You can help further minimize these low risks by providing a detailed account of your medical history and medications.

How can Acupuncture Help Me?

Acupuncture is most often used to treat pain, but is also used for problems that do not involve pain

Some General Comments

How well you respond depends on multiple factors. Where applicable, life style choices should always come first.
